About the Festival
Who we are
Vancouver’s annual Clean Air Festival is an immuno-inclusive hybrid festival that brings together artists, activists, experts, and grassroots organizations to celebrate clean air and community care. In the face of ongoing challenges ranging from COVID-19 to the climate crisis, the need for community-led solutions is greater than ever – and that’s what our festival is all about.
The Clean Air Festival isn’t just an event – it’s a community commitment to safety, solidarity, and health justice. It’s a way to make connection more accessible and immuno-inclusive, particularly for those who are disproportionately impacted by the ongoing pandemic. It’s a way to bring people together to tackle collective challenges, and to demonstrate some of the solutions in real time.
Our history
Since our inception in 2023, the Clean Air Festival has featured everything from DIY air cleaner workshops, to live music and stage magic, to mutual aid distribution and much more. We’ve donated air cleaners to schools and vulnerable community members, while providing free masks, rapid tests, and DIY fit test kits to the public. We’ve livestreamed the entire Festival and offered online-exclusive programming, both of which have reached people around the globe. We’ve connected activists and action groups across “BC” and beyond, and put immuno-inclusive COVID-safer programming front and centre in the media.
